My Testing + Supplement Philosophy

Functional testing and supplements can be powerful tools in acne healing — but only when they’re used strategically.

Inside my 1:1 acne program, I’m intentional about which functional tests I recommend and when. Testing is used to clarify the root causes most likely contributing to your acne, not to overwhelm you with unnecessary labs or excessive protocols.

My supplement approach is equally targeted. Each recommendation is based on your symptoms, lab results, tolerance, and priorities so we can support your body in a way that feels clear, purposeful, and sustainable.

Why Strategy Matters

Many of my clients come to me after trying countless supplements, elimination diets, protocols, and “root-cause” recommendations without lasting results. Often, the issue is not that they need to do more — it’s that they need the right support, in the right order.

More testing is not always better. More supplements are not always better. The goal is to identify what actually matters for your skin, prioritize the most relevant root causes, and build a plan your body can realistically respond to.

Why I Start With the GI-MAP:

I start with the GI-MAP because the gut gives us a strong foundation for understanding what may be driving persistent acne beneath the surface.

Gut health can influence inflammation, immune activity, digestion, nutrient absorption, detoxification, and how hormones are metabolized, cleared, and excreted from the body — all of which can affect how the skin behaves. The GI-MAP helps us evaluate patterns like dysbiosis, pathogens, digestive insufficiency, inflammatory markers, and microbial imbalances that may be contributing to acne, skin reactivity, impaired healing, and hormone-related patterns.

Starting here allows us to identify foundational imbalances first, then decide whether additional testing is actually needed based on your symptoms, history, progress, and overall clinical picture.

My Testing Philosophy

My approach to testing is strategic, targeted, and intentionally not excessive.

After we evaluate the gut, I look at your symptoms, history, cycle patterns, skin presentation, progress, and overall clinical picture to determine whether additional testing would meaningfully change the plan.

Organic Acids, DUTCH, or other labs may be added when they can help clarify what your body needs next — but they are not run simply for the sake of collecting more data. The goal is to choose the tests that help us make better, more personalized decisions.

My Supplement Philosophy

My approach to supplements is targeted, sequenced, and matched to what your body can actually tolerate.

I don’t believe in giving every client the same long list of products or adding more just because we can. Your supplement protocol is built around your lab results, symptoms, tolerance, priorities, and phase of healing.

The goal is not to overwhelm your system. The goal is to use the right tools, at the right time, in a way your body can respond to.
